ANTI-AGING THREAD LIFT

The evolution of medicine is always moving toward simplification. In the field of cosmetic and anti-aging medicine, the patient and the surgeon (or the cosmetic doctor) are always looking for the simplest, fastest and most effective therapeutic solution.

The anti-aging tensor threads, or thread lift, make it possible to correct the effect that time has on the face realizing a true medical lifting without surgery.

This is a non-invasive technique using resorbable sutures with small bidirectional cones, which are inserted under the skin under local anesthesia, 5 mm from the cutaneous surface.

The sutures and cones are made of poly-L-lactic acid and are fully resorbable. It is a polymer that is particularly biocompatible with humans and completely biodegradable.

After the subcutaneous threads are installed, the lifting effect is immediate due to the elevation and the compression of the tissue. Thanks to the stimulation of the natural production of collagen that results from the resorption of poly-L-lactic acid a regenerating effect is added over time to the lifting effect.

Therefore, the resorbable anti-aging tensor threads allow two joint actions: an immediate lift effect and a progressive regenerative effect.

This technological innovation of non-invasive cosmetic medicine makes it possible to obtain a very natural result: the face is redesigned, the volume restored and the wrinkles diminished.

The Silhouette Soft® treatment can be compared to wrinkle treatments, but instead of an intradermal injection of the product, it is inserted in the form of totally resorbable “sutures”. The Silhouette Soft® treatment also offers an immediate medical lifting effect, which is not given by any filler.

When one asks women and men what they consider to be the two main signs of facial aging treatment, the answer is always the loss of tone of their skin causing a sagging of the contours of the face and the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines and folds.

This phenomenon, which worsens with age and menopause, is due to the loss of collagen, this protein present in all body structures and especially in the skin. Collagen ensures cohesion, elasticity and regeneration of the skin tissue. With age, this substance decreases and the skin becomes less firm, more loose. The face also loses fat tissue, empties on the sides, the chin and lower cheeks becoming heavier.

Silhouette Soft® thread lift is performed at Laclinic-Montreux, or at the Beauty Suite in Lausanne, (30 minutes from Geneva by car), is therefore aimed at all women and men aged 30 to 75 who wish to fight effectively against the signs of aging, without resorting to heavy and invasive treatments, but desiring a real and natural result.

This treatment is suitable for all types of skin, however, it is not recommended for patients who are allergic or sensitive to biomaterials.

The different areas that can be treated are: cheekbones and cheeks, mandibular zone, eyebrows and neck.

On the other hand, the tensor threads are not indicated in cases of integumentary ptosis and important cutaneous excess. In this case a facelift will be more appropriate.

No specific preparation is necessary before a Silhouette Soft® treatment.

The treatment with tensor threads is performed in a sterile environment, ideally in the operating room. Only local anesthesia is required at the entry and exit points of the suture.

The tensor threads are inserted through the skin into the subcutaneous tissue (about 5 mm deep) under sterile conditions. No incision is made; the wire being inserted through a thin needle. It holds in place thanks to the cones.

Once all the threads are put in place, the cosmetic surgeon performs a slight compression of the tissues so as to reshape them and achieve the desired lift effect.

The threads are placed differently according to the patient’s indication. One or more threads can be placed on each side of the face depending on the patient’s wishes and the area to be treated.

Silhouette Soft® tensor threads can be used as a single treatment or in combination with botulinum toxin injections  and fillers.

The total duration of the treatment varies from 30 minutes to 1 hour depending on the patient and the number of threads that need to be installed.

After a treatment with Silhouette Soft® anti-aging tensor threads, slight swelling, redness or bruises can sometimes occur. Irregularities and stiffness of the skin are also common. They usually disappear within a few days. The patient can quickly resume her or his social and professional life !

Post-treatment recommendations include:

– To apply ice or a cold towel on the treated areas for 5-10 minutes immediately after treatment;

– To take analgesics in case of pain for 2 to 3 days;

– To keep the head elevated during the first 3 nights and preferably sleep on the back;

– To gently clean and dry the face, without rubbing, for 5 days;

– To apply make-up, shave and wash your hair gently, for 5 days;

– To avoid exposure to the sun for 15 days;

– To avoid facial massages and facial treatments for 20 days;

– To avoid any sport, especially any contact sport, for 20 days;

– To avoid excessive facial movements while yawning, chewing, talking … for 3 weeks.

– Do not use sauna and hammam (steam bath), for 3 weeks;

As it was previously explained, the effect of this non-surgical medical lifting is immediate.

After a few weeks, the (Poly-L-lactic) component of the Silhouette Soft® suture begins to resorb. Then, it stimulates fibroblasts and the production of collagen which had gradually disappeared over the years. It is renewed and the face regains its shape. It is the regenerating effect that will appear secondarily.
